I took the three B&W photographs in 1970, then in 2003 I printed them.
The trouble was, I couldn't remember where I had taken these pictures, so I posted a desparate
appeal on the uk.transport.london newsgroup.
Over 400 visitors had a look at these pictures and just one, Paul Terry, suggested it could be
Brentford Dock. Richard J. then visited the location, confirmed Paul's suggestion, very kindly took
a series of matching colour photographs and mailed them to me.
I am proud to have Richard's permission to publish these above.
When I posted my appeal, I didn't expect the bridges to still exist. Much less would I have expected them to
have survived as road bridges, and yet both structures have even been widened to accomodate footpaths!
That just leaves the overturned trailer which, along with its cab, had been sadly relegated to guard duty.
It was almost certainly a Bedford 'ML'.
If you want to publish any of my pictures - ask me first!
I must also insist that you respect the copyright of owners of other works appearing on this site.
